The Garuda method

Garuda is a sequenced movement practice that blends the discipline of Pilates, the breath awareness of yoga, and the fluid coordination of dance. The result is an athletic, intelligent, and meditative experience.

Garuda retains the precision and core intelligence of Pilates while incorporating greater flow, rhythm, and three-dimensional movement options, all woven into choreographed sequences that are both dynamic and mindful. The method intentionally takes the body into different planes of motion, especially through rotation and spirals, teaching you to move efficiently beyond linear patterns.

This approach builds integrated strength; deep, organized, and powerfully functional.

Truly Three-Dimensional Movement

While Pilates may include rotation, Garuda places 3D patterning at the heart of movement coordination. You’ll engage your body as an integrated whole, with particular emphasis on spinal, hip, and shoulder mobility, moving beyond segmented exercise into connected, intelligent motion.

Flow and Rhythm as Training Tools

In Garuda, transitions are as important as positions. Sequences are designed to develop timing, coordination, and stamina alongside strength, training your body to move smoothly and continuously under full control.

3

A Purpose-Designed Apparatus Experience

Alongside mat work, Garuda uses specialized apparatus that encourages expansive, multi-directional movement pathways. Resistance can be applied from varying angles, allowing for longer, more continuous sequences that build strength without sacrificing fluidity.
